Assessment of Depression, Anxiety and Stress among the Undergraduate Physiotherapy Students

Background: Today, psychological morbidities such as depression, anxiety and stress are most common psychiatrichealth issues worldwide. Stress in medical education especially among the undergraduate students has become aglobal phenomenon nowadays. According to WHO, depression is mental disorder, characterisedby sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings guilt low self-worth, energy poor concentration anddisturbance sleep appetite, Anxiety disorders characterised by excessive fear worry relatedbehavioural disturbances defined a state tension caused difficult situation.This study important identify risk factors undergraduatephysiotherapy students, it affects their health well academic achievements. The aim objective ofthis assess physiotherapy usingDASS-21 scale.Methods: This an observational was conducted Physiotherapy College Maharashtra. totalduration this 6 months from October 2022 March 2023. Data collected 43 first year fourth using DASS-21 questionnaire.Conclusion: Psychological illness form have been reported substantialproportion undergraduate. Depression 76.74% while stresswere found 86.05% 83.72% respectively. Organized interventions should be initiated prevent excessivepsychological students.
